Picture Books & Resources
Inspire children to be open-minded in their dealings with others, making sure they take responsibility for their own failures rather than blaming others. Encourage children to be fair by treating others in ways they wish to be treated. Fairness also includes taking turns, telling the truth and not breaking the rules.
As with many positive character traits, it is important for children to reflect on how their actions affect others. Some books below show characters who demonstrate fairness and integrity. Others focus on characters listening to their conscience and understanding the effects of their actions. The books promote being trustworthy, open-minded and showing impartiality.
