Picture Books & Resources
The following collection of books challenge gender stereotypes. They present characters who don’t fit into “normal” gender roles. They are instead true to themselves. Rebel Girls has produced great short videos on fairy tales with men in the role of the “lead” character. Their YouTube channel includes a video highlighting the “ugly truth” about female book characters, or the lack of them.
