Generosity Book List & Resources

Generosity is more than the giving of gifts, it is also about our attitude to others and how we act around them. This may involve the giving of our time. Use these books to start a dialogue on not expecting anything in return of charitable and generous acts.

As with many positive character traits adults need to model their own behaviour and support children so they can build this attitude into their daily lives. Help them look for little ways they can be generous. Don’t make it all about big gestures on important days, such as birthdays. As well as modelling behaviour, share stories of characters generosity, sharing and kindness. This generosity book list offers examples of caring, thoughtful and respectful behaviour.
