IB Learner Profile Book Lists

IB Learner Profile Book Lists

The learner profile is a “broad range of human capacities and responsibilities that go beyond academic success.” (IBO) The ten universal values develop lifelong learners and internationally minded citizens.

You don’t have to teach the IB to appreciate the usefulness of the IB learner profile. Embedding the ten attributes into a classroom environment helps the teacher model them daily. Authentic demonstrations or opportunities enhance your student’s understanding of each attribute.

Below you will find ten separate lists related to the learner profile. Within each list, there is a list of picture fiction and online resources. The suggested books are ideal for thought-provoking discussions with children of all ages.

Once within a list click on a book cover to find more information about each book, including lesson plans and resources. You will also find suggested books from the author and illustrator.

How do you model the learner profile in your own actions to your students? Let us know about how you promote the learner profile in your classroom
