Michael Rosen writes an emotional and honest story based on the death of his own son Eddie. The book starts with a self-portrait. “This is me being sad. Maybe you think I’m happy in this picture. Really I’m sad but pretending I’m happy.”

Rosen discusses the effects of his emotions and shares his strategies for coping, like seeking out someone to talk to. Rosen ends on a positive note. “Every day I try to do one thing that means I have a good time. It can be anything so long as it doesn’t make anyone else unhappy.”
