Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress by Christine Baldacchino
Morris Micklewhite loves to paint, drink apple juice, sing and complete puzzles at school. His favourite area is the dressing up centre where he chooses to wear a tangerine dress. He loves the colour, the swishing and crinkly noise it makes as he moves. The dress reminds him of “tigers, the sun and his mother’s hair.”
He feels ostracised when the other children tease him or refuse to sit with him because of the dress. Eli and Henry refuse to let Morris onto the classroom spacecraft, undeterred Morris builds his own spaceship.
