“Harold is unlike any other fox. His biggest dream is to become a detective. His biggest love is Swiss cheese.” As Harold becomes a ‘big fox’ he faces a dilemma, his father challenges him to catch a chicken. Harold doesn’t want to hurt a chicken, but he doesn’t want to disobey his father. He catches a chicken by the legs. As he rushes home to show his accomplishment to his father the chicken clucks and clucks. When Harold enquires why he is making the noise, the chicken explains he doesn’t want to be eaten. “I don’t eat chicken. I just have to catch one,” explains the surprised fox. In this moment of hesitation, the chicken escapes. His father’s disappointment prompts Harold to hunt for the missing chicken. Playing detective, the clues lead him to rescue the chicken alive from a kidnapping wolf. Harold follows his heart and helps the chicken escape on a train out of town.
