Star in the Jar

Title: Star in the Jar
Author: Sam Hay
Illustrator: Sarah Massini

ISBN: 9781405284301

“My little brother likes looking for treasure… one day he found something extra special.” The little boy takes this treasure, a star, and asks if anyone has lost it. But no one had. The boy keeps the star and “put it in a jar and carried it everywhere.” One night the boy saw a message in the sky. “LOST one small star.” The siblings knew they had to help the sad star get home. His sister had a bright idea. They collected all the lights they could find in the house and made a star shape in their garden. The message worked! The stars made a “long swirly, whirly, sparkly silver chain. All the way down to our garden… And they lifted their little friend gently back up to the sky.”
