Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes

Title: Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes
Author: Mem Fox
Illustrator: Helen Oxenbury
Publisher: Walker Books (2009)
ISBN: 9781406319569
Mem Fox celebrates babies from around the world. “There was one little baby who was born on the ice. And another in a tent, who was just as nice. And both of these babies, as everyone knows, had ten little fingers and ten little toes.” The end of each refrain repeats, allowing young children to join in, and count the fingers and toes. The narrator ends the story with her own baby who “was truly divine, a sweet little child who was mine, all mine,” … and has “three little kisses on the tip of its nose.”
