Thanksgiving Children's Crafts and Picture Books

Now Halloween is past Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Many years ago when I taught Kindergarten at an international school in Germany I was invited to a few Thanksgiving celebrations by some American families. It was wonderful to be part of such a special celebration and something I will never forget, particularly the amazing food!

I know for many of my American friends they love Thanksgiving more than Christmas. They tell me they like the fact it is a holiday absent of gifts and gives them a chance to reflect on what they are grateful for.

I have searched the web for family-friendly great hands-on activities and wonderful picture books.

You can also browse the Children’s Library Lady gratitude picture book list and posts about gratitude and fall.

Thanksgiving & Gratitude Picture Books

I have a chosen a collection of Thanksgiving books that describe the history and traditions of the holiday in both fiction and non fiction. There are also some books that focus on gratitude and thankfulness, others are just a fun read for all the family.
Why not head to your local library or book store to find some of these great books.
